 Collards – Coated with All-Vantage
Cold-Hardy, Regrowth-Capable Greens with Enhanced Establishment from All-Vantage Coating

These collards are a standout leafy brassica bred for consistent performance in food plots, especially where late-season attraction and repeated grazing are priorities. Compared to other leafy brassicas like turnips or rape, these collards offer superior cold tolerance and a more fibrous leaf structure that resists breakdown in freezing temperatures. The result is a dependable green food source that stays palatable well into the late season—often holding value into December and beyond.

With broad, dark green leaves packed with digestible fiber and sugars, Ideal N. Edge Collards serve as both a powerful draw and a reliable nutritional boost when natural forage is dwindling. Unlike some other species that degrade after frost or heavy browse pressure, this variety is known for regrowth and persistence, making it ideal for plots that will see sustained deer activity.

This variety is coated with All-Vantage, a premium seed treatment designed to maximize germination, root development, and nutrient uptake—especially in low-fertility soils or under dry conditions. The coating also improves flowability for accurate seeding and enhances seed-to-soil contact, ensuring more even stands with faster early growth. All-Vantage is OMRI compliant and built with biological additives to support strong early vigor without the use of synthetic chemicals.

Ideal N. Edge Collards are an excellent choice for mixing with cereal grains, clovers, and other brassicas—or as a standalone plot where leafy, graze-tolerant forage is desired. They perform best when planted in fertile, well-drained soils with moderate pH (6.0–7.0) and benefit from balanced fertility, especially nitrogen at establishment.

  • Seeding Rate:

    • 6–8 lbs per acre (drilled)

    • 8–10 lbs per acre (broadcast)

  • Planting Depth: ¼ inch

  • Soil Preference: Well-drained loam or sandy loam; pH 6.0–7.0

  • Fertility Needs: Medium to high nitrogen recommended; soil test for best results

  • Planting Window: Late July through early September (Upper Midwest); slightly earlier in northern zones

  • Coating: All-Vantage biological seed treatment

  • Bag Sizes: 1 lb, 5 lb, 10 lb

Whether used in a diverse blend or as a solo feature, Ideal N. Edge Collards bring reliable regrowth, late-season draw, and agronomic strength to your food plot strategy—especially when other forages have faded out.
