Perennial Pursuit™ –Long-Lasting, High-Protein Forage for Year-Round Attraction
This hardy perennial mix combines four clover varieties with chicory and birdsfoot trefoil for a food plot that establishes quickly, withstands grazing pressure, and persists for multiple seasons. Designed for long-term nutrition and soil-building benefits, it delivers consistent attraction from spring green-up through late fall, making it one of the most dependable perennial blends available.
Blend Components, Maturity & Longevity:
Ladino Clover – A large-leafed white clover known for its excellent palatability, protein content, and persistence. Ladino is a proven cornerstone in deer food plots, producing lush forage that withstands heavy grazing pressure. With protein levels ranging from 20–30% and excellent regrowth, it delivers both attraction and nutrition season after season.
Dutch White Clover – A low-growing, dense clover that spreads quickly and fills gaps in the plot. Highly attractive to deer, it provides consistent nutrition while helping to maintain ground coverage, even in tough conditions. Its shorter stature makes it resilient to browsing and an excellent companion to taller forages.
Alsike Clover – A versatile clover that excels in cool, wet, and even acidic soils where others may fail. While not as tall as Ladino, it is highly palatable and provides dependable forage across a wide range of growing conditions. Its adaptability makes it a valuable contributor to long-lasting stand success.
Berseem Clover – A fast-establishing clover that delivers quick attraction and high-quality forage while the perennial components take hold. With crude protein levels often exceeding 20%, Berseem provides immediate nutrition in the first year, helping to jumpstart plot performance. Though annual in nature, its rapid growth makes it an excellent “nurse crop” for the blend.
Chicory – A deep-rooted perennial broadleaf built for resilience and attraction. Chicory thrives in dry, hot conditions where clovers may go dormant, ensuring deer have a dependable food source through summer stress. Highly palatable and mineral-rich, it provides 20–30% protein with excellent digestibility, supporting antler development, fawn growth, and overall herd health. Its strong taproot also mines nutrients, improves soil structure, and helps sustain long-term plot performance.
Birdsfoot Trefoil – A hardy perennial legume that thrives where clovers may thin out, especially in low-fertility or wetter soils. While slower to establish, it delivers steady forage production year after year. With protein levels of 18–24% and natural tannins that improve protein utilization, trefoil helps deer convert nutrition more efficiently for antler growth and body condition. Its persistence and soil adaptability make it the “insurance policy” of this blend, ensuring long-term performance even under challenging conditions.
