Red Milo
Red Milo is a warm-season annual grain sorghum selected for consistent performance, strong early vigor, and dependable grain production across a wide range of conditions.
This variety establishes quickly and produces a uniform stand with excellent drought tolerance and standability. As it matures, it develops large, semi-open seed heads filled with energy-rich red grain, making it an excellent late-season food source for deer, turkey, and upland birds.
A key advantage of Red Milo is its natural grazing resistance during early growth stages. The plant is typically avoided by wildlife until the grain heads fully mature, allowing it to reach its full yield potential without being overgrazed too early. Once mature, the grain becomes highly attractive and serves as a valuable food source into fall and winter.
Red Milo performs well in hot, dry conditions and requires less fertility than crops like corn, making it a dependable and cost-effective option for food plots, cover cropping, or adding grain production to a habitat system.
